Seems like it should not be that tough, but I am getting a 2 hour labor bid from my service center and I keep going back to the thought "Gee. I should be able to do this"!

Why I want to mess with it is another debate, but for $250 in saved labor charges, seems I should at least look into it.

Turn off water supply to trailer, remove shroud, disconnect water to toilet, remove 2 nuts on floor bolts, remove toilet (take it outside and set on work table), disconnect 4 bolts holding top to bottom, remove seal. (clean or replace) as needed, hose down interior of bottom piece (you'll see why ) then put toilet back together (reverse order), take inside, put new floor flange seal on toilet (use old if in good shape), set toilet, bolt down, connect water, install shroud, turn on water to trailer. test toilet.

It's not difficult. pain in rear, YES and will probably take you at least 2 hours.

On Edit: Have you checked with a mobile RV repair as to cost. sometimes cheaper than RV service center and faster. Don't have to take trailer in, they come to you, do work that day and get on down the road for next job.

I did check the seal and it is not pliable, so suspect it is shot at this point.

I think it is going to require removal of the whole unit. I had hoped the bowl could simply be removed without taking the whole thing out. I will take the advise to get the toilet out of the water closet and onto the bench. Appreciate the insight. Looks like it will be a "crappy" experience at best.

I will check and see if there is a mobile RV repair service here in Temecula. let me know if you have recommendations.

I cleaned the seal. still drained.

Today I bought a bottle of drain valve lube from CW for 6 bucks, poured in a little. filled the bowl with water and followed the instructions.

It now seals again.

Our toilet developed a leak from the back valve while we were on a three week trip and the seal in the toilet was bad also. Here is what we found out. It costs more to repair the toilet than to replace it because to repair it it has to be taken out and reinstalled plus the cost of the repair. When we got home in the mounds of mail waiting for us we found a Camping World flyer with a special of half off toilet installation and that there was a $35 dollar rebate on the toilet we liked. The total after rebate and installed was just over $200.00 for a Aqua-Magic V toilet installed. IMHO if not in a big hurry wait for a sale on the labor.

In June 2011 I bought a Hand Flush, Low Profile, Parchment, Aqua Magic V from Adventure RV Center 2910 Newport Highway Sevierville, TN 37876 for 107.76 + 17.15 shipping and .95 insurance for a total of $125.86 complete w/installation parts. The install was easy. Their web site is www.AdventureRV.NET
Currently they are selling the Aqua-Magic Style Plus china toilet line for $207-367.

Style plus toilet has to be separated into 2 separate parts in order to get at blade seal.
Depending on 'room' sometimes it's easier to remove the whole toilet and then separate.

The thought of having to take this apart and fixing it, yep. I could have done it, but why.

I purchased the Aqua Magic Style Plus Commode and I have to say I am extremely disappointed with this product. Firstly, the installation instructions were vague and unclear, making it difficult to assemble. Secondly, the seat is incredibly uncomfortable and does not provide any support or padding. Lastly, the flushing mechanism is inconsistent and often requires multiple flushes to effectively flush waste down. Overall, I would not recommend the Aqua Magic Style Plus Commode as it is a subpar product in terms of comfort and functionality.

I had high hopes for the Aqua Magic Style Plus Commode but unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. The seat itself is flimsy and feels unstable. It wobbles when I sit on it and doesn't provide a secure feeling. Additionally, the water pressure for the flush is inadequate, which often leads to clogged toilets. Furthermore, the design of the commode is not visually appealing and looks cheap, especially considering the price point. I would not recommend this product to others looking for a reliable and aesthetically pleasing commode.

The Aqua Magic Style Plus Commode is a disappointment. The seat is uncomfortable and does not stay in place, leading to potential accidents. The flush mechanism is weak and often requires multiple attempts to effectively clear waste, which can be frustrating and time-consuming. The installation process was also difficult and required additional tools that were not included. Overall, I regret purchasing this commode and would not recommend it to others.
