So I just watched the 1st episode. Thought it was pretty cool.

Also, nice dragon summoning.

This series seems interesting. A witch going around stopping battle during Hundred's Years war? That's pretty cool. And I like the magic. Definitively will keep on watching.

This one definitely needs another episode at least to see where it was going. The witches have the best fashion sense since Witch Craft Works.

Rather fun watch.

I liked this a lot, including the setting, ambience, battle sequence and character interactions, but then again I've read the manga, even past the point where translations end. I already knew what to expect.

The show hasn't really gone into enough detail about several things, but I would say the plot is quite simple even when all the elements do come into play.

I wouldn't consider it episodic though. It's more of a character tale with a few surprisingly thoughtful parts, regardless of the always silly jokes about sex, than a great fantasy adventure about saving the world. Just warning that's not what is going to happen here.

I really like magic in this series look pretty.

Also, it seems Angels are total dicks. I totally agree that Maria did nothing wrong.

Michael is an asshole, that is all.

. So, it's a sin to stop injustices from occurring in front of your eyes because other parts of the world are having a hard time as well, therefore it's better that everyone everywhere suffers equally.

. Maybe it's because the Valkyries filed a complaint about not collecting valiant souls from that region?

Michael is a hypocrite. He only meddles in the real world to stop someone who's saving lives? I hope this show isn't going to take the stance that God and the angels are actually right because I'd find it very hard to believe.

He only meddles to stop people who are doing too much magical meddling, I believe. Precisely what they were trying to accomplish with said magic seems less important; I certainly don't think he'd be any kinder if somebody start using summons to level cities.

But- Maria's the main character here; of course he's not supposed to be the good guy. He's morally neutral at best.

Episode three was quite nice, expanding the complications and finally getting to what people assumed the show would be about, but in a different way.

God was like "Dammit Michael, you are making us look like such a jerks! Town it down a little!"

If it's for Maria, Joseph won't even falter before an archangel. He's a good guy.

She will lose her powers with her virginity? Now they are just being petty.

Ezekiel can totally use some Butt-Monkey treatment

I like how Maria doesn't back down after all and sticks it to the angels. Thankfully Ezekiel is terrible at her job so she can continue doing her stuff.

In case you are wondering, yep animal trials were a thing back there. Funny times, those Middle Ages.

Ha, as if she would take that offer.

For a Japanese show, the understanding of Middle Ages is amazing. I wonder where it'll go from here on.

It's interesting, really. The research has clearly been done here, and there aren't even any actual misunderstandings. Things are just. emphasized different than they tend to be.

Like, Micheal leans towards the 'soulless quasi-Eldritch Abomination' type angel that's totally in the Bible but doesn't show up much in Western culture. And the Monks shave the tops of their head, but that doesn't prevent the blonde guy from having beautiful hair.

I know my Middle Ages, but I can't recall animals getting judged at all. So yeah, that surprised me a little.

Ezekiel really should've kept the illusion going. But thanks to her little slip, Maria can still stop wars. Thanks for your patronage!

Another excellent episode, both funny and though provoking. This show doesn't shy from looking frankly at the whole situation.

Maria isn't wrong in what she's doing. Of course it's impossible for one person to save everyone but ignoring those who she can help isn't an answer.

Priapos has point, just believing is easy, it means you don't have to think. It's what allows angels to not have any empathy towards humans and be sanctimonious pricks.

What's with this show obsession with sex and virginity? Everyone really wants for Maria to get laid. It's so weird yet really funny.

The manga kind of plays up the sex jokes too, but offset it with some of the nastier parts of Medieval sexuality as well — stuff like clergymen seducing orphans just to set them up to be burned at the stake for example.

So what I got out of this episode is that Priapos and Ekeziel need to smooch. Like, I basically spend every second they were onscreen together getting annoyed about them not smooching. I'm sure some other stuff happened, but that's what I got.

Yeah, I was surprised that manga is even more merciless in it's portrayal of the church. The anime already isn't sugarcoating thing but the manga even more so.

Also surprised that Joseph doesn't show up much compared to anime.

How is this show? I've only seen Randomc's preview so I don't know much about it but at the very leastit sounds interesting.

I don't think there's anything negative to say about it so far.

What I don't get about this is how come Maria is the only one who get's flack from St. Michael. He doesn't seem to bug the other witches. Or Artemis for that matter.

Maybe he just like her style of summoning Kaiju. :)

1. Jennifer - 2/5 stars - I was really excited to see "Onyx the fortuitous and the talisman of souls" because I had heard such great things about it. But I was ultimately disappointed. The actors in the film just didn't live up to the hype. Their performances felt forced and overacted, and I found it hard to connect with any of the characters. The dialogue also felt very unnatural, and it was difficult to follow the plot. Overall, I was let down by the lackluster acting in this film.

2. Michael - 1/5 stars - I cannot believe how bad the acting was in "Onyx the fortuitous and the talisman of souls." It felt like watching a middle school play with amateur actors who had no understanding of their craft. The dialogue was wooden and the delivery was completely stiff. I found myself cringing throughout the entire movie. The lack of talent from the actors really ruined what could have been a potentially enjoyable film. I would not recommend wasting your time on this one.

3. Sarah - 2/5 stars - The actors in "Onyx the fortuitous and the talisman of souls" were incredibly disappointing. It seemed like they were just going through the motions and didn't have any real passion or depth in their performances. The whole film lacked emotional intensity, and I found it difficult to connect with the characters. The poor acting made it hard to take the story seriously and ruined what could have been an engaging experience. I was left feeling underwhelmed and unimpressed with the talent on display in this film.
