Find Your Perfect Dupe for Lush Magic Crystal: A Detailed Comparison

By admin

Lush Magic Crystals is a popular bath product known for its refreshing and invigorating properties. However, if you're looking for a more budget-friendly alternative, there are several dupes available on the market that provide similar benefits. One option is Dr. Teal's Epsom Salt Soaking Solution in the Soothe & Sleep variety. Similar to Lush Magic Crystals, this dupe contains Epsom salt as the main ingredient, known for its muscle-relaxing and soothing properties. It also includes lavender essential oil, which can promote relaxation and improve sleep.

‘Magic needn’t only be cast with a flick of a wand or a twitch of a nose, magic can come in a tub in the bathroom.

Warming and stimulating aniseed oil accompanies fine sea salt and Epsom salts to brighten, buff and polish skin while fresh rosemary and sage infusions cleanse and tone. It is packed with anti-inflammatory properties that can not only help relax the skin, but soothe irritation as well; also, it can help soften the skin and fight aging signs.

It also includes lavender essential oil, which can promote relaxation and improve sleep. Another alternative is the Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub in the Tropical Mango scent. While not specifically designed for use in the bath, this scrub can be used on the body to exfoliate and moisturize the skin.

Magic Crystals Shower Scrub from Lush

After what feels like an eternity Lush have finally released another potted shower scrub. I have been wanting an alternative to Rub Rub Rub for longer than I can even remember, not because I dislike Rub Rub Rub, I in fact adore it… I just feel as if it would be nice to have more of a choice when it comes down to the potted shower scrubs, enter Lush’s brand new Magic Crystals Shower Scrub!

Magic Crystals is a brilliant shade of purple, upon seeing its colour I immediately had a soft spot for it as its the exact same colour I had my bridesmaids in when I got married in 2017.

When pictures of the Magic Crystals shower scrub first emerged on social media due to its magical name, many people guesstimated that it shared its scent with the Magic bath bomb, they were however very, very wrong.

Its ingredients include fresh mint, sage and spearmint oil as well as epsom and fine sea salt. Magic Crystals doesn’t share a scent with another Lush product it does however remind me of several of them.

When you first take the lid off of the Magic Crystals I am instantly reminded of one of my favourite Lush face masks the Mask of Magnaminty.

Once you start to use Magic Crystals in the shower I am then reminded of Christingle body conditioner, not only for its scent in the steamy hot shower but also for how it gently stimulates your skin making it tingle a little.

To use all you have to do is scoop out a small amount from the pot and work it into your skin just as you would a shower gel. A little amount does go a long way but please feel free to over indulge. I won’t tell anyone if you won’t!

With any exfoliator I recommend that you pay particular attention to any dry patches you may have such as knees and elbows. The spearmint oils tingly properties breathe life into dull skin. A quick scrub down with Magic Crystals clears your pores of excess oil, dirt and yucky dead skin leaving your skin softer in appearance as well as to touch.

Consistency wise Magic Crystals isn’t as silky soft as Rub Rub Rub. The salt in it appears to be slightly more chunkier, it does however do an almost identical job, I’d go as far to say that my skin actually feels more hydrated after using Magic Crystals when compared to my skin after using Rub Rub Rub.

Overall I am very happy with the new Magic Crystals shower scrub, it’s nice that there is more of a choice of this particular type of product now. The variety certainly makes shower time a lot more exciting to say the least.

Once out of the shower its minty scent is still detectable on your skin hours after using it. Its scent on my skin actually reminds me of the Intergalactic bath bomb some what. Intergalactic is one of my favourites so this is a huge positive for me, I will imagine this is the case for many other Lush customers too as Intergalactic is one of (or possibly is, I need to check) their best selling product.

Reviews for "Affordable Alternatives to Lush Magic Crystal: Dupe or Not?"

1. Sarah - ★☆☆☆☆
I was really excited to try the Lush magic crystal dupe as I had heard so many rave reviews about the original product. However, I was extremely disappointed with this dupe. First of all, the scent was overpoweringly strong and not in a pleasant way. It gave me a headache every time I used it. Secondly, the texture was very gritty and harsh on my skin, which left it feeling irritated and red after each use. Overall, I would not recommend this dupe to anyone as it did not meet my expectations at all.
2. Michael - ★★☆☆☆
I had high hopes for the Lush magic crystal dupe, but unfortunately, it fell short for me. The smell of the product was pleasant and invigorating, but that was about all it had going for it. I found that it left a greasy residue on my skin that I couldn't get rid of no matter how much I rinsed. Additionally, it didn't seem to have any exfoliating properties, despite the claims made by the brand. I was left feeling disappointed and would not repurchase this dupe.
3. Emily - ★★☆☆☆
I was really excited to find a dupe for the Lush magic crystal, as I love the original product but find it quite expensive. Unfortunately, this dupe did not live up to my expectations. The scent was barely noticeable, which was a disappointment as I enjoy the aromatherapy aspect of the Lush product. Moreover, the crystals in this dupe were too large and harsh on my skin, causing irritation and redness. I will stick to the original Lush product in the future.
