THE AMITYVILLE HORROR begins with a prologue about the first bloody murders. Cut to one year later, when George (Ryan Reynolds) and wife Kathy (Melissa George) move in with her kids Billy (Jesse James), Michael (Jimmy Bennett), and Chelsea (Chloë Grace Moretz). As soon as they move in, menacing voices tell George to kill his family. Chelsea communes with the ghost of the dead daughter, who talks her into a dangerous rooftop climb. Complaining that the house is always cold, George moves into the basement to be near the furnace. He starts yelling at the children and punishing them excessively. George's personality changes are evident, but he returns to his old, pleasant self whenever he leaves the house. Kathy calls in a priest (Philip Baker Hall) with holy water, but he flees in fear, leaving her to cope with the demons and her raging husband.

Holzer was a parapsychologist who invested the supposedly haunted house in Amityville in the 70s and went on to write the books Murder in Amityville which served as a source of inspiration for Amityville II The Possession , The Secret of Amityville , and yes, The Amityville Curse. These days it seems like every indie filmmaker in the world has made something with Amityville in the title, but the new film The Amityville Curse is based on the novel of the same title, which was written by Hans Holzer.

Further ensuring an authentic approach, Incendo secured the underlying rights to Hans Holzer’s titular original novel from the estate.

In The Amityville Curse, “A group of friends purchase an infamous home with the intention of flipping it, only to discover a deadly paranormal presence bent on destruction.”

The film was adapted by Dennis Heaton (“Motive”) and directed by Éric Tessier (“You Will Remember Me”), with Graham Ludlow (“Terror Train”), Kaleigh Kavanagh (“Terror Train”), Brook Peters (“Terror Train”) and Shari Segal (“Terror Train”) executive producing alongside fellow author and Hans Holzer’s daughter, Alexandra Holzer, whose contribution to the film pays tribute to continuing the authenticity and legacy of her father’s work.

Reviews for "The Best Seat in the House: Carnival Magic Ocean View Rooms"

1. John - 2/5 stars - The ocean view room on the Carnival Magic was a huge disappointment. The website made it seem like we would have a stunning view of the ocean, but instead, all we got was a tiny porthole window that barely let in any light. It felt claustrophobic and definitely did not live up to our expectations. Additionally, the room was cramped and outdated, with old furniture and worn-out carpeting. Overall, I would not recommend paying extra for an ocean view room on this cruise ship.
2. Sarah - 1/5 stars - I cannot express how disappointed I was with the ocean view room on the Carnival Magic. It was nothing like the pictures on the website. The room was small and outdated, with water stains on the ceiling and a musty smell. The window was also dirty and poorly maintained, so we couldn't even enjoy the limited view it provided. It felt like we were trapped in a dingy, run-down cabin for the entire duration of the cruise. Save your money and opt for a different room option if you decide to sail on the Carnival Magic.
3. Robert - 2/5 stars - The ocean view room on the Carnival Magic was a letdown. The window was so small and dirty that it barely let any natural light in. It felt like we were staying in a basement instead of a room with a supposed view of the ocean. Additionally, the room itself was cramped and in need of a renovation. The furniture was worn-out, and the carpet had several stains. For the price we paid, I expected much more. Overall, I would not choose the ocean view room again on this cruise ship.
