What did our critic think of KIM'S CONVENIENCE at Park TheatreIn July 2018, a little series titled Kim’s Convenience was released internationally on Netflix. It followed the daily lives of a Korean Canadian family who runs a convenience store in Toronto. The Canadian venture had premiered a few years earlier locally, but the project was born at the 2011 Toronto Fringe Festival in the shape of a play with the same title. The show went on to have five seasons before ending prematurely with a bunch of controversies attached to it. It was a delightful surprise when the Park Theatre announced that the piece would finally have its British debut with the writer, Ins Choi, starring as the proud owner and patriarch.

‘The Worst Witch’ Season 3 Coming to Netflix in July 2019

The Worst Witch has been coming to Netflix shortly after its finished airing in the United Kingdom on CBBC. The partial Netflix Original is a favorite among the Netflix kids lineup and we finally have the season 3 release date.

Just to recap, The Worst Witch is a British series adaptation of the classic novel series of the same name. It’s not the first adaptation, of course. There’s actually been several now with the most recent being the 2015 series. The series tells the stories of a group of young witches at a school for magic.

The series is a cross-production between three different providers. The CBBC from the UK, ZDF from Germany and Netflix internationally.

What to expect from season 3 of The Worst Witch

As the series has already aired in the United Kingdom (and finished on CBBC back in March 2019) we already know quite a bit about what to expect from season 3.

Once again, 13 episodes make up season 3.

The first episode sees “Mildred enters the Great Wizard’s broomstick-flying contest to win a Wishing Star, but trouble arises when she competes with her new stray dog rather than Tabby.”

The Worst Witch – CBBC

The show sees the majority of its cast returning including the likes of Bella Ramsey continuing her role as Mildred Hubble. Bella is obviously mainly known for her spectacular performance in HBO’s Game of Thrones. Raquel Cassidy, Clare Higgins, Jenny Richardson, and Dagny Rollins also return for season 3.

Debuting this season are Annette Hannah who plays Mabel Tapioca and Kelsey Calladine-Smith as Indigo Moon.

When will season 3 of The Worst Witch be on Netflix?

We were expecting season 3 to arrive sometime in the summer and that’s now been confirmed.

All regions of Netflix is getting The Worst Witch on July 26th, 2019.

Netflix UK is also getting The Worst Witch added in July but obviously, doesn’t carry the Netflix Original banner. If you don’t have a Netflix subscription, the BBC iPlayer is still carrying some of the episodes on its platform.

‘The Worst Witch’ Season 4 Coming to Netflix in October 2020

Just in time for Halloween, British kids series The Worst Witch will return for its fourth season around the world (with a major exclusion if you’re in the UK). Here’s what you need to know about season 4 including when it’ll drop.

If you’re not familiar with the series, let’s quickly catch you up. The series is produced by both CBBC (the children’s arm of the BBC in the United Kingdom) and ZDF in Germany. Netflix, however, carries the international rights for the series.

The series itself is based on the children’s novel series by Jill Murphy that has multiple adaptions over the years including the co-production available on Netflix which by most accounts, it the best available.

Notably, for season 4, Mildred Hubble was played by a new character in season 4. Up to season 3, it was played by Bella Ramsey who featured in HBO’s epic Game of Thrones. She was replaced by Lydia Page.

We also had several new young actresses and actors join season 4 including Luciana Akpobaro who plays Indigo Moon’s daughter, Billie Boullet who plays a junior covern leader, and some new teachers including Karen Paullada and Nitin Ganatra.

For most Netflix regions, you’ll be getting season 4 of The Worst Witch on Netflix for October 1st, 2020. In the UK, which is still yet to get season 3, you’ll likely have to wait for at least a couple of years before it drops. You do, however, have the choice of watching the series in full via the iPlayer.

Will there be a season 5 of The Worst Witch on Netflix?

We’re still yet to hear of anything regarding season 5 of The Worst Witch and that’ll probably be the case leading up to the UK release. It has been speculated that the series will only go on for another single-season given the fact the witches in the school are only there for five years.

Are you looking forward to more episodes of The Worst Witch on Netflix? Let us know in the comments.
