I looks like it is 6 in the parts diagram, having said that the blade seal that you are taking about probably has a build up of mineral deposits that is causing it to hang up on the blade seal. I looks like it is #6 in the parts diagram, having said that the blade seal that you are taking about probably has a build up of mineral deposits that is causing it to hang up on the blade seal. If you camper is a 1990 the blade has had 27 years to build up deposits. Mine was 20 years old when I had to remove the toilet and disassemble the unit to scrape off the deposits. It is not a difficult job.

Thanks - yeah, I did replace both the seals on the 1990's toilet.

This time it's for the 2004 Roadtrek and the seal seems OK for now - it's the blade assembly that doesn't work properly.

Call Thetford and ask Tech services , they helped me with mine, If you need to work on it , it will have to be removed to work on it.

Thanks - I'll call them, but have to wait till Monday.

Only the parts as identified in your link are serviceable.

When you replaced the bowl/blade seal did you install it with the 'beveled edge' UP?

Is it time for your medication or mine?

Try rigging a stop under the pedal so it doesn't travel as far.

Yeah - I thought that would work. Cut a small board to fit under it. Still when pushing on the pedal it wants to fly to the side and get caught beyond the seal. If you're really-really careful with pushing the pedal down it sometimes works.

Looks sort of like I need to buy a whole new toilet.

This can sometimes be the better solution. Toilets are being sold for just North of $100, last I checked. By the time you're done cleaning, repairing, and lubing up the original, it can be a wash.
I repaired my old Thetford because I wanted to keep the Avocado color. YMMV

I posted in error I meant to say the blade itself gets a mineral deposit on it not the seal.
