Poe, The Ravens Mascot, Is Out for the Year. Are The Ravens in Trouble?

I can be a very superstitious person. As a coach, I usually wear the same game outfit (after I wash it weekly of course) on game days if we win. Mascots have been a huge part of sports for as long as anyone can remember. In fact, the word mascot comes from the French term “mascotte,” which literally mean lucky charm. That can be concerning for the Ravens as Poe, the Baltimore Ravens mascot, is now out for the season with a torn ACL. The injury occurred after playing in an AAU youth football exhibition in Baltimore during a halftime show. Here’s the video of him being carted off the field:

The crazy thing is, does this actually have any effect on the Ravens and their performance on the field? Depends on how superstitious you are. Remember mascot literally means lucky charm. What if the Ravens lost their lucky charm? What if their success in the past can be contributed to Poe, the Ravens mascot. I sound like I am looney tunes but I know there are superstitious people in this world that wish I wouldn’t bring this bad juju on them.

Now, the Ravens are being forced to have mascot tryouts for the new temporary identity of Poe. (Holy f*** is his name Poe because it’s a raven and Edgar Allen Poe wrote a famous poem about a raven?! Oh my God my mind is blown I have never connected that until this very moment. Okay, internal monologue over). Do you think any of these schmucks can even compare to the greatness of the original Poe? I think not. If you’re superstitious, I would be very wary about this season for the Ravens. A guy that is supposed to be your lucky charm being out is not good for team morale or performance. Hopefully it doesn’t affect the Ravens too much.

I’m only slightly joking, this could mean nothing, but it could mean everything. Good Luck Baltimore and we’re wishing Poe a speedy recovery to be the team’s good luck charm.

Reviews for "Audition for the Ravens mascot and become part of NFL history"

1. John - 1/5 stars: I couldn't believe how unprofessional the Ravens mascot auditions were. The organization should be ashamed for allowing such a lackluster event to take place. The auditions seemed disorganized, with no clear instructions or guidelines given to the participants. It was also evident that the panel of judges had no experience or knowledge in the field of mascoting, as they made arbitrary and confusing decisions. Overall, it was a waste of time and left a sour taste in my mouth.
2. Emily - 2/5 stars: While I appreciate the effort put into the Ravens mascot auditions, I was disappointed with the execution. The event lacked excitement and creativity, with most participants just copying the same tired old routines. The judges seemed disengaged and unenthusiastic, which only contributed to the lackluster atmosphere. I was hoping to see some fresh and innovative ideas, but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations.
3. Ashley - 1/5 stars: The Ravens mascot auditions turned out to be a complete letdown. It felt more like a disorganized high school talent show than a professional audition. The lack of coordination was evident from the start, with participants unsure of where to go or what to do. The judges seemed uninterested and unqualified for the task, making questionable decisions that left many talented individuals overlooked. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and a waste of time for both participants and spectators.
4. Mark - 2/5 stars: I attended the Ravens mascot auditions with high hopes, but I left feeling underwhelmed. The event lacked creativity and originality, with most participants resorting to generic mascot routines. The judging process seemed arbitrary, with no clear criteria or feedback given to the contestants. It felt like a missed opportunity to showcase the abundant talent and potential within the mascot community. I left the auditions feeling like the Ravens could have done much better in organizing a more innovative and engaging event.
5. Sarah - 1/5 stars: The Ravens mascot auditions were an utter disappointment. The lack of professionalism was apparent from the disorganized check-in process to the confused judges' panel. It was evident that the auditions were poorly planned and executed, leaving both the participants and the audience feeling unsatisfied. I expected a well-thought-out event that celebrated the art of mascoting, but instead, I witnessed a chaotic and uninspiring gathering. The Ravens should take a hard look at how they organize their auditions and strive for a more engaging and professional experience in the future.
