By admin

The magic of mistletoe has been a popular tradition during the holiday season for centuries. This small plant, known for its distinctive white berries, holds a special place in our hearts and imaginations. With its mystical properties and romantic connotations, mistletoe has become a symbol of love and friendship. One of the oldest myths associated with mistletoe dates back to the time of the ancient Celts. They believed that mistletoe possessed miraculous healing powers and could bring good fortune and protection from evil spirits. Druids would perform rituals involving mistletoe, using it to ward off evil and bless their homes and livestock.

Druids would perform rituals involving mistletoe, using it to ward off evil and bless their homes and livestock. In Norse mythology, mistletoe was central to the story of Balder, the god of light and joy. It was prophesied that Balder would die, and his mother, Frigg, made every creature and plant promise not to harm him.

Substitution Policy
Fresh Flowers: We try very hard to deliver flowers as they are pictured. If we are out of an item or a certain color of flower, I will contact you. We are committed to delivering your important emotional sentiments on time and as fresh and beautiful as possible. Because of the nature, seasonality, and regional availability of flowers it is sometimes necessary to make substitutions of equal or greater value. We will make every effort to maintain the "look and feel" of the arrangement by considering the overall shape, size, style, and color combinations. In single-variety arrangements, the variety will take precedence over color. For instance, if an order is for yellow daisies, they will substitute another color of daisies, not another yellow flower. White roses and cream roses may be substituted for each other as well as peach roses and pink roses. Purple and pink orchids may need to be substituted for white orchids and visa versa.

Plants: For green and blooming plants, similar plants may be substituted of equal or greater value. For one-of-a-kind plants, such as orchids, we will make every attempt to match the plant type, but may substitute with another color. Containers for plants will be as close as possible.

Gift Baskets: Substitutions within a basket may be made with items of greater or equal value if necessary to guarantee freshness and timely delivery.
Substitutions for Special Occasions: Due to the importance of delivering orders for special occasions, such as funerals, birthdays, and anniversaries, on specific days, we may make a substitution of equal or greater value to ensure timely delivery, if the flowers you requested are not available, and we are not able to contact you via the phone number(s) or email address you provided us.

Delivery Policy
Specific Times: We are able to do some timed deliveries, mainly for special events and if someone is working certain times. If we cannot deliver in the time frame that you are requesting, we will call you. We do call ahead for funeral services to verify service times. We normally deliver in the afternoon from 2:00-5:30PM. Schools and business are delivered first. You may request a time frame in the special instruction box when ordering, and we will do our best to accommodate your request. We do call and text ahead to ensure that someone is home to except delivery and to double check the delivery address. Please make sure that you have given the recipients working phone number.

If No One is Home: Depending on the delivery location, if the recipient is not available at the time of delivery, the delivery person WILL NOT leave the flowers with a neighbor unless you or the recipient have specified this. Too many times the neighbor leaves and the recipient may have a hard time retrieving the flowers. The delivery driver will leave a message for the recipient to call to arrange for delivery. We do not usually attempt delivery unless we have spoken to the recipient to ensure delivery.

Recipient Will Be Contacted: In all cases, the florist will contact the recipient to ensure s/he will be home to accept the delivery.

Request to Leave Item at Door: The customer assumes all liability for requests to leave arrangements. We highly discourage special instructions requesting delivery to a doorstep, porch, yard or any location where the recipient cannot accept the arrangement themselves. We cannot be held responsible for missing or faulty product due to this special request.

Mistle too magic

However, Frigg overlooked mistletoe, thinking it was harmless. The mischievous god Loki used this oversight to make a spear out of mistletoe and kill Balder. After Balder's death, mistletoe became a symbol of love and reconciliation. During the Middle Ages, mistletoe took on a more romantic meaning. It was believed that hanging mistletoe in the home would bring good luck and fertility to the inhabitants. Customarily, a lady standing beneath the mistletoe could not refuse a kiss from a man. If she did, it was said that she would be doomed to remain unmarried for another year. Today, the tradition of kissing under the mistletoe is still alive, although it has evolved into a lighthearted and playful gesture. Many people hang mistletoe in their homes during the holiday season, creating opportunities for spontaneous fun and romance. Whether it's at a holiday party or a cozy gathering with loved ones, the magic of mistletoe can bring people closer together and spread joy and happiness. It's important to note that mistletoe, while magical, can also be toxic if ingested. The berries contain poisonous substances, and precautions should be taken to keep them out of the reach of children and pets. Artificial mistletoe can be used as a safer alternative. In conclusion, mistletoe has a rich history of enchantment and romance. Its presence during the holiday season adds a touch of magic and whimsy to our celebrations. Whether it's a simple peck on the cheek or a passionate kiss, the tradition of mistletoe reminds us of the power of love and the joy that can be found in unexpected moments..
