Cookie Dough Magic to open soon in Trussville Entertainment District

TRUSSVILLE — A new, sweet spot is coming soon to downtown Trussville. Cookie Dough Magic serves safe-to-eat cookie dough and the owners are getting ready to open up shop and serve people in the Entertainment District. The location plans to open on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020.

Cookie Dough Magic Trussville will be in the same building as Ferus Artisan Ales, on Beech Street. The space is larger than the current location in Avondale.

As for the atmosphere, the design of the 1400 sq. ft. space will be based on the existing location in Birmingham, owner Chris Bell said. Local franchisee Christie McKee said she is excited to introduce the product to the people of Trussville.

“We just want people to come down and check us out,” said McKee. “If you’ve never been to the one in Avondale, this is a perfect time to come down.”

The shop will have a family-friendly vibe during the day and at night, things darken a little for the mature crowd. Bell believes the experience will complement the brewery next door. Above all, he hopes this new concept will delight palates and put smiles on faces.

Bell said his business prides itself on high-quality products with real ingredients. He says Cookie Dough Magic’s customer service is also top-notch.

The product itself is safe to eat because the flour undergoes a special heat treatment to kill bacteria. Although you’ve always been told not to eat cookie dough, this concept is a game-changer. The cookie dough is served chilled, in a cone, cup or in a milkshake.

I was expecting more originality and creativity, but unfortunately, I left the theater feeling unimpressed and unsatisfied.
