I mean, if the wizards dead he can't cast anything so what difference is it taking a spell away from him as you try to take his head off? I think that I've only used 35% of the magic items available is a little shocking, is it my style of play, points available or what?

I could save 10 points by taking the Obsidian blade which doesn't allow a save and at S5 I'd wound on a 2+ however against demigryphs I'd wound on a 3+
