Beaconing Witch is a Korean drama that aired in 2020. It tells the story of Hae Min, a 37-year-old single woman who has never had a boyfriend. She works at a publishing company but dreams of becoming a best-selling novelist. One day, she discovers a magical perfume that makes her irresistible to men. With the help of this perfume, she finally starts dating but realizes that the men are only interested in her because of the perfume, not her true self. As the drama unfolds, Hae Min learns valuable lessons about self-acceptance and the importance of being true to oneself.

The Penguin Co-Editor PositionEach year a new editor or duo of co-editors takes the helm of our beloved student newspaper, keeping The Penguin fresh, relevant, and ever-evolving, just like our student body! This year our penguin co-editors are Brittany Bryant & Caroline Jesalva!
Along with the opportunity to shape the look of the publication, editors are paid for a total of twenty hours per month. They are responsible for creating themes and recruiting contributors for eight issues during the academic year.
Applications for the editor or co-editor position include a resume, cover letter, writing sample, and letter of recommendation for the 2022-2023 year, open sometime around mid-April each year.

1. Emily - 2 stars - I was really excited to watch "Beconing Witch" as I love Korean dramas, but I was so disappointed with this one. The storyline was confusing and lacked depth, and the characters were one-dimensional and uninteresting. The acting was mediocre at best, and I found myself struggling to stay engaged throughout the episodes. Overall, I would not recommend "Beconing Witch" to fellow K-drama fans.
2. David - 1 star - "Beconing Witch" was a complete waste of my time. The plot was convoluted and seemed to go nowhere. The characters were annoying and unrelatable, making it difficult to care about their stories. The production quality was also subpar, with poor special effects and sloppy editing. I tried to give it a chance, but I couldn't even get through the first few episodes. Save yourself the trouble and skip this disappointing drama.
3. Sarah - 2 stars - I had high hopes for "Beconing Witch," but unfortunately, it fell flat for me. The pacing was incredibly slow, and the story dragged on without much development. The romance aspect felt forced and lacked chemistry, making it hard to root for the main couple. There were also several plot holes and inconsistencies throughout the series, which left me frustrated and confused. Overall, "Beconing Witch" left me feeling unsatisfied and disappointed.
